That with respect to Notice of Motion EC2026-0562, the following be adopted: BE IT RESOLVED that Council direct Administration to fund up to $6.0 million from the 2026 positive operating variance to initiate a pilot for strategic traffic safety improvements in Operational Services, including the following: 1. Expanding community-based initiatives for traffic safety such as RRFB and Temporary Corridor Safety Improvements to be funded annually at equal levels in each ward; 2. Identify additional opportunities for expanding traffic-safety initiatives in the Calgary Safer Mobility Plan 2024-2028; AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that Administration report back to the Community Development Standing Policy Committee no later than September 2026 on the following: 1. The costs, benefits and outcomes of redirecting the equivalent of net parking enforcement revenue to the expansion of programming in the Calgary Safer Mobility Plan 2024-2028; 2. A framework for the implementation of the traffic safety improvement pilot, including a. Actions for community-based initiatives in each ward; and b. Additional actions related to initiatives in the Calgary Safer Mobility Plan. 3. A framework for monitoring and measuring outcomes with a report back date for the success of the pilot to the Community Development Committee no later than Q3 2027; and 4. Impacts to the favourable year-end variance to General Revenue for the City of Calgary, if it were reallocated effective September 2026.
