Terms of use

How PolitiWard's information may be used and reused, and what it does not promise.

About the information

PolitiWard is an independent, non-partisan record of Calgary municipal politics compiled from public sources. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by The City of Calgary, Elections Calgary or any candidate or party.

The site is new and still being checked. Much of it is read from scanned documents, so it can contain errors and omissions. Every figure links to its source: where PolitiWard and an official record differ, the official record is correct. See data quality for how complete each part is.

Summaries, scores, comparisons and classifications are PolitiWard's analysis, explained on the About page, not official findings. Nothing here is legal, financial or voting advice.

Acceptable use

When using the site, please do not:

  • use contributor names to solicit donations, market products or services, or to contact, harass or intimidate anyone;
  • collect the site automatically beyond the published CSV downloads, or exceed the request limits (heavy traffic is slowed down automatically);
  • try to disrupt the site or reach parts of it that are not public;
  • present PolitiWard's content as an official City record or as endorsed by the City.

Please keep the caveats that go with a figure (unread amounts, matched names, coverage limits) when you reuse it, and do not present PolitiWard's analysis as official.
